    Jet X Season Rules

F1 on water - Jet X is motorsport on the Swan River.
These rules exist for one reason: fair runs, clean systems, real winners.

This page covers how qualifying runs count, how the leaderboard works, and how the up to $100K Season Purse is awarded.

    1) Season Dates

    Practice Month: February 5 → February 28

Qualifying (Ranked) Season: March 1 → June 30

The Season Purse is awarded based on Qualifying Season results only.

    End-of-Season Reschedules (Weather / Operations)

    • Qualifying Season ends June 30.
    • Any Qualifying run purchased and scheduled on or before June 30 remains eligible to be run and recorded, even if rescheduled after June 30 due to weather or operational postponement.
    • The official season winner and up to $100,000 Season Purse will not be finalised or announced until all eligible rescheduled Qualifying runs have been completed and uploaded (or deemed void / forfeited under the rules).

    2) What Counts as an Official Qualifying Run

A run is official only when all of the following are true:

    • The course is open/green-flagged
    • The pilot completes the course as instructed
    • The timing system records the run successfully
    • Safety and conduct rules are followed throughout

If any of these fail, the run may be recorded as void (no official time).

    3) Leaderboard Logic

    • The leaderboard is ranked by best verified lap time during the Qualifying Season.
    • Your position is based on your single fastest valid time.
    • If you haven't posted a valid qualifying run yet, you won't appear on the official board.

    4) Verification and Timing Integrity

Jet X uses electronic timing and event logging. A time is considered valid when it is:

    • recorded by the timing system, and
    • matched to the correct pilot/session, and
    • confirmed as a clean run (course + safety compliance)

If the system cannot verify the time, it won't count.

    5) Invalid Runs (Voided)

A qualifying run may be voided if:

    • the pilot deviates from the course
    • safety instructions are ignored
    • unsafe driving behavior occurs
    • there is interference with the run zone
    • timing capture fails or data is incomplete
    • the run is stopped by crew for safety

Void runs don't count for the leaderboard or the purse.

    6) Disqualifications

A pilot may be disqualified from a session, the season, or purse eligibility for:

    • intoxication or suspected impairment
    • reckless / unsafe conduct
    • ignoring staff instructions
    • tampering with timing, equipment, or procedures
    • harassment, aggression, or endangering others
    • repeated breaches after warnings

Disqualification decisions are made by Jet X operations and are final.

    7) Ties (Exact Same Time)

If two pilots record the same best time:

    • the tie is broken by the next-best verified lap time (second fastest), then third, and so on.
    • If still tied, Jet X may run a tie-break session under controlled conditions.

    8) Disputes and Review Window

    • If you believe a leaderboard entry is incorrect, you can request review.
    • Reviews must be requested within 7 days of the run.
    • Jet X will review timing logs and session records.
    • Decisions after review are final.

    9) Conditions and Postponements

Jet X runs on open water. If conditions are unsafe (wind, chop, visibility, traffic, equipment), Jet X may:

    • pause the course
    • delay or reschedule sessions
    • cancel a session

    Safety beats schedule. Always.

    10) Transfers and Eligibility

    • Seat Holders may transfer a reserved session to another pilot under Jet X transfer rules.
    • Transfers must follow the official transfer flow.
    • The session remains the same; ownership changes.
    • Abuse of transfers (scalping, manipulation, bypassing rules) may result in removal or disqualification.

(Transfer timelines and constraints are shown during the transfer flow.)

The Up to $100K Season Purse

    Last updated: February 2026

    11) Definitions

    • "Season Purse" — the prize pool available to the winner of the Jet X Season One Qualifying Season.
    • "Season Period" — the Qualifying Season dates: 1 March 2026 to 30 June 2026 inclusive.
    • "Qualifying Run" — a run designated as Qualifying (Ranked), purchased and completed during the Season Period in accordance with these Season Rules.
    • "Ranked Lap" — a single lap within a Qualifying Run that is timed, verified by the Jet X timing system, and recorded in the Jet X platform.
    • "Leaderboard" — the official Jet X ranking of Pilots by their fastest Ranked Lap time.
    • "Pilot" — any individual who has purchased and completed at least one Qualifying Run.
    • "Eligible Participant" — a Pilot who meets all eligibility requirements set out in Section 14.
    • "Verified Time" — a Ranked Lap time that has been electronically recorded by the Jet X timing system, matched to the correct Pilot and session, and confirmed as a clean run (course and safety compliance).
    • "Disqualification" — the removal of a Pilot's eligibility for the Season Purse under the grounds described in Section 6.

    12) Funding & Calculation

The Season Purse for Season One is up to AUD $100,000. This is a cap, not a guarantee.

    How the purse is funded:

The purse is built directly from Qualifying Run entries — the more pilots who race, the larger the purse grows. A portion of every Qualifying Run purchase contributes to the pool. If total entries don't reach the required threshold, the final purse will be less than $100,000.

$100,000 is the maximum. It is not guaranteed.

Jet X may, at its sole discretion, contribute additional funds to increase the purse beyond what entry revenue alone would support.

The final Season Purse amount will be announced at the conclusion of the Season Period, after all eligible Qualifying Runs (including weather-rescheduled runs per Section 1) have been completed.

    13) Winner Selection

The winner of the Season Purse is the Eligible Participant with the single fastest Verified Time on the official Leaderboard at the close of the Season Period (including any rescheduled Qualifying Runs).

    Tie-breaker rules:

    1. The tie is broken by the next-fastest Verified Time (second-best lap), then third-best, and so on.
    2. If still tied after all Verified Times are compared, the Pilot who recorded their fastest Verified Time earliest (by timestamp) is the winner.
    3. If still tied, Jet X may arrange a controlled tie-break session at its discretion.

    14) Purse Eligibility

To be eligible for the Season Purse, a Pilot must:

    • Complete at least one Qualifying (Ranked) Run during the Season Period.
    • Hold a valid booking and have completed payment for the Qualifying Run(s).
    • Comply with all safety briefing instructions, the Jet X waiver, and these Season Rules.
    • Have at least one Verified Time recorded in the Jet X timing system. Manual-only or self-reported times do not qualify.
    • Not have been Disqualified for any reason under Section 6.

    15) Purse Validation

    Before payout, Jet X will:

    • confirm the winning time is verified and compliant
    • confirm no disqualifying conduct occurred
    • confirm identity and eligibility requirements are satisfied

If a top time is invalidated, the purse passes to the next fastest eligible pilot.

    16) Payment

The Season Purse will be paid within 30 days of the season end date and completion of all verification checks.

To receive payment, the winner must:

    • Provide valid government-issued photo identification.
    • Provide Australian bank account details for electronic transfer.
    • Complete any required payment forms or declarations.

Taxes: The winner is solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from receipt of the Season Purse. Jet X may withhold amounts if required by Australian tax law.

    17) Force Majeure & Operational Events

Weather, safety concerns, regulatory requirements, or equipment failures may cause sessions to be postponed or rescheduled. If the Season Period is materially shortened or cancelled due to events beyond Jet X's reasonable control:

    • If 50% or more of the Season Period has been completed with at least 20 Qualifying Runs recorded, the Season Purse will be awarded based on the Leaderboard at the time of cancellation, with the purse amount adjusted pro-rata based on actual entries received.
    • If fewer than 50% of the Season Period has been completed, Jet X may, at its sole discretion, either award a reduced purse based on actual entries or refund Qualifying Run fees to affected Pilots.

Any decision under this clause will be communicated to all registered Pilots within 14 days.

    18) Marketing & Publicity

By entering a Qualifying Run, the winner agrees that Jet X may use their name, likeness, race footage, and Verified Time for reasonable promotional purposes related to Jet X and the Season Purse, including social media, website, and marketing materials. Jet X will seek the winner's cooperation for any substantial promotional activities.

    19) General

Jet X reserves the right to amend these Season Purse terms with 30 days' written notice to registered Pilots. No amendment will retroactively affect a Pilot's eligibility based on runs already completed.

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.

Jet X is operated by Groundwork Group AU Pty Ltd (ABN 47 687 468 971), Perth, Western Australia.
